Fire Truck Visit, 30 August

It was very exciting for our preschoolers when the Tweed Fire Department visited Bili Kids! Inspector Mark showed us all of his special gear that he wears when he gets called out to put out a fire. We also discussed the telephone number 000 to ring in case of an emergency. Mark showed us what to do if our smoke alarm goes off at home and gave us very helpful information if ever we are confronted with a fire. We all practised Get Down Low an Go Go Go and the Drop and Roll if we catch on fire.

The highlight of their visit was having a look in the Fire Truck! We all had a turn of sitting on the back seat, but the most exciting part was holding the fire hose and turning the water on! The water squirted out into the grass paddock next door and the children loved every minute of it.
